Social Responsibility

At PCI Geomatics, we are not only committed to delivering excellent geo-imaging software and products, but also to making the world a better place. In keeping with our Vision and Mission, PCI has chosen to engage in a number of local and global initiatives to directly support the communities we interact with.

Local

PCI endeavors to identify and meet needs in the Ottawa-Gatineau and Toronto areas. In recent years, we have facilitated snowsuit and canned food drives to enhance the quality of life for those who go without. Similarly, PCI provides employees the opportunity to financially support a variety of non-profit organizations through annual Canada Helps campaigns. When natural disasters strike or physical needs arise, we adjust our donation effort to support corresponding charities.

Global

PCI is constantly sending employees abroad for various events, training and customer relation purposes. We augment the purpose of this international travel by aiding communities through the simple giving of technology. At most conferences, PCI will locally purchase electronics for use in our booth. Following the event, employees will visit and donate the items to schools, orphanages or other non-profit organizations in the area.

PCI Geomatics donation of TV in Germany

Continuing to think globally, PCI donates the use of our software for natural disaster monitoring both here in Canada and abroad. In Canada, we were called upon to process a series of sensor images taken of the fire devastation in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The imagery was then utilized by authorities to assess the rapidly changing ground conditions.

SR El Pozo SR CRIBS Foundation

More recently, PCI has made Geomatica software licenses available to resellers and partners in Ecuador, Mexico and Peru as floods, earthquakes and mudslides have occurred. At PCI, we take Social Responsibility very seriously. We plan to continue stewarding what we have and expanding on the programs in hopes of being a contributor to a better world.
